I have followed Salman Khan's career since I was a kid. His first film Maine Pyar Kiya released when I was Born. It is still one of my favourite films of all time. This movie was directed my Sooraj R. Barjatya the same guy that directed Hum Aapke hai Kaun and Vivah. It was only fair that if these two talented souls were going to work together. the film would HAVE to be a Blockbuster.
This had to be one of the BEST movies I have seen in the last 10 years without fail. I have been pretty unimpressed with Bollywood recently, but I must say that Salman Khan has kept Bollywood as it should be. With movies like Dabangg and Bhajrangi Bhaijaan. He is a very underrated actor and I love that.
We all know some very overrated actors in the Bollywood industry, I agree that they are talented but their movies have no real meaning to them any more.
This movie took me back to my childhood of watching a film that had the importance of Family and Love running through it. Those are the kinds of films I want to watch. The importance of life was seeping through this film and I felt so much happiness watching it.
Salman has completely out done himself with this movie. I loved seeing new Actors and Actresses instead of the overrated type we see. It made the film feel real and raw.
I would most definitely watch this again and ask you to give this movie a go too.
Sonam Kapoor shined like the star she is destined to be. She has finally shown her real talent in this movie. Good on her. I know people had their reservations about this duo, I sure did as I didn't think it would work. They casted the right person for sure. It worked so well.
Was lovely to see Neil Nitin Mukesh in this movie. Its about time these underrated actors were given roles to show their full potential. He played his character really well.
The Soundtrack
Himesh Reshammiya was behind this magical soundtrack. I have been playing this FULL soundtrack over again and again. Again, this was one of the reasons I felt so nostalgic whilst watching it. I love the songs "Jalte Diye" and "Aaj Unse Milna" the most but the whole soundtrack is decent.
The songs took me back to the evergreen days. Romantic songs at their best. Full of love, light and emotion. I have nothing but great words to say about this soundtrack.
The Clothing & Sets
Every few minutes I was nudging my Husband and whispering " we need to get married again, I want you to wear THAT, and I want to wear THAT. Oh my god look at THAT outfit!"
The outfits had that Mughal look, so rich and traditional. Gorgeous! I wish I could find some great photos of the sets online but I can't find anything decent enough to give the sets any justice. They defined BEAUTY!
Happy Diwali. Hope you enjoyed my review.
Lotsa love Leesh of UnLeeshd x x x
