Hi there, Detox.

Admittedly, my overall health is absolutely fine.
My diet always contains Fruit & Veg as and when it can. However, the colder months have resulted in me staying indoors and not being as active as I used to be.
Instead, I've snuggled up most evenings after work, snacking away with my feet up.
It's the season of indulgence so I don't feel too guilty.
I just hate that my body doesn't feel as healthy as it did before.
So i've started a slight Detox today.
By slight.. I'm drinking some healthy tea and juices but eating normal meals. Most people when doing a detox usually only eat and drink Fruit & Veg for a few days but I'm not in need of an intense detox.

I've started the detox off today by drinking Lemon tea.. (Slice of lemon in some hot water! EASY PEASY..LEMON SQUEEZY ;-) )

Health Benefits:
  • Great for your immune system
  • Great for weight loss.. Gets rid of those naughty food cravings.
  • Helps with any digestion problems
  • Cleanses your insides, gets rid of any bad toxins and waste in your body
  • Is known to make your skin look clearer.
A simple tea like this has ALL of these health benefits! I'm excited to start cleansing. There's something so therapeutic about knowing you're ridding your body of all those bad toxins.

Green Monsters!
I've been drinking Green monsters now and again. I was introduced to these by Roshni of http://littlemissrosh.blogspot.co.uk/
I enjoy healthy drinks and snacks, Usually people look at green drinks and say "URGHHHHH.. What is that?" "How can you drink that?" Whereas, I see a healthy drink or snack and am always intrigued to know if they taste nice or not.

Ingredients vary but I use:
1 Banana
1 cup of raw spinach
1 tsp Wheatgrass powder (You can purchase this from all good health food stores)
1 cup of Milk

You pop it all into a blender and TA-DA..

Benefits:
Wheatgrass powder - Cleanses your body, helps build your immune system up.
Banana's - Great for your energy levels, potassium and also keeps you fuller for longer.
Spinach - Full of Vitamins & Antioxidants.

If you don't like Bananas for example, go onto the main website and find a smoothie more ideal for you.

I won't blog until the New Year now so I just want to thank you for all the support and feedback this year.
Here's to 2013! Hoping to make UnLeeshd much bigger and better for you all!
Lotsa Love & Well Wishes.. Leesh of UnLeeshd x x x

Kitoko Hair Oil.

ITS NEARLY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE..& I'm not feeling one bit festive. Ive decorated the house, eaten Christmas cake, made Christmas treats, wrapped presents, even worn my Christmas pyjamas, for some reason it still hasn't kicked into me!
I'm hoping by 4pm tomorrow when I finish work I'll be in the Christmas spirit :)

Some of you might have seen me put a message on my Facebook page yesterday regarding hair oils.
I had my hair cut yesterday as the ends were dead. Long hair is hard to maintain. It was in need of a major maintenance cut.

I asked my hair dresser if she used any hair oils on her customers. She recommended this oil as well as recommending to go to Afro-Carribean stores. She said they sell Coconut and Argan oils which are good for the hair. Being an Indian I know a few good hair oils too but I've always stayed away as some have very strong scents!

What does Kitoko do?
Kitoko contains Karite aka Shea Butter & Argan oil along with Vitamins A & E.
Shea Butter & Argan oil are both good for moisturising. The oil nourishes your hair especially if you suffer from quite dry and frizzy hair.
Long hair is a chore, I won't lie. I blow dry mine everyday and straighten it every other day so mine tends to dry out a lot! It's my fault I know but I haven't got the time to naturally dry it.

This oil sounds good to me. I've literally just tried it out, I won't see much of a difference yet but I will do a second review on this in two weeks time. The formula is very light. Like a serum really, goes onto your hand like a oil and is as lightweight as water. You just put it into the ends of your hair when it's wet/damp :)

I was luckily given this to try out to see if I noticed a difference in my hair. This 10ml bottle itself is £5-6.
The normal sized bottle (95ml) is about £18-20.
I think this very pricey for a hair oil but I've read reviews on this product and a lot of people said when they first saw the price they weren't too sure but after using it for a few weeks they thought it was worth every penny.

Have any of you used any hair oils? I'd love to know as I'm looking to use hair oils a lot now. I want my hair to be as healthy as possible!

Benefit.. Boi-ing.

Happy Thursday Evening People!!! Yes, It's bloody Friday tomorrow and I can't wait. I have a 1 hour 45 min day (random! ha) and then I'm off for the rest of the day.. happy times.

Onto this Benefit concealer, Boi-ing.. who has this?

I'm not the biggest fan of this at the moment, so I just want your opinions and even techniques, How do you choose to apply this concealer, How has it been on your skin?
I've read some good reviews on this stuff, hence why I bought it but for some reason, it makes my skin look worse by highlighting the bad areas instead of 'concealing'
It also has a tendency to dry my skin out too.

Before I slate this product, I thought i'd give it a chance by asking for your opinions and techniques, try it out again and see how I feel.

Bourjois Kohl Kajal Eyeliner.

Are you a complete sucker for eyeliners? I'M GUILTY of this.
The first make up I ever wore as a teen was a Rimmel black eye pencil. I used it and WOW, what a difference it made!
It's one make-up product I could never live without. I think Eyeliners are simple and cheap but they seem to make such a difference.
On a personal note, my face looks so much fresher and brighter when I put eyeliner on.
I bought this eyeliner a couple days ago.. and I'm in love already!

This retails at £6.99 in Superdrug.
The packaging is so cute and different.
The eyeliner itself is cone shaped for a simple and easy application. I love the look of this eyeliner, YES! the shape did make me buy this product. The intense black is beautiful for a nice smokey eye. It has a waxy feel which makes it brilliant for blending.

One of the best eyeliners I've ever bought. I've been wearing this on my top and bottom eyeline. I love that dark cleopatra look.
Does this product appeal to you?

Contour addict.

I'm slightly obsessed with Contouring at the moment. It makes such a difference to your facial shape.
I had no idea how much of a difference it made until I started contouring myself.
I'm still a NOOB when it comes to contouring. I use a Collection 2000 concealer and Hoola by Benefit for contouring at the moment. I would love some recommendations on other products that are worth buying.
Get in touch :) @UnLeeshd on Twitter or just a little message on here!

Thanks beauts!

Happy and Healthy

Hello my darlings.
I've been looking to do this post for a few months but I feel really sensitive about this subject.
From the ages of 15-21 I all of a sudden went from being stupidly underweight to overweight for my age.
I ate like any other child when I was little but I never put on any weight, the second mother nature decided I was ready for a present every month.. everything I ate, I put on double the weight.
I'd eat a grape and put on 10lbs lol ok ok slight exaggeration.

Anyway, I got carried away with my portion size and comfort ate a lot. Hormonal times!!

After a good 5 or so years of feeling unconfident and very unhappy.
I decided to do something about it!
It took me a while to get into it but something just clicked last year and that was it. Turning point.
The first photo below, doesn't really show how big I was, but I was a size 14-16 here.
I remember going to Boots and weighing myself on those machines. I was Overweight for my height.. 11st 2lb.. & had a crap BMI.
I used to be disgusted about my weight. For such a young woman, I should be active, I should be able to go into a clothing store, pick up an outfit and try it on without feeling embarassed that it probably won't fit.
I refused to buy a Size 16 outfit so the second I realised size 14's were getting too tight. I had to do something about it.

Weight Loss.

I've mentioned my weight loss before & for those who KNOW me..
I do NOT believe in "diets" that word pisses me off *language Leesh!* & so do people who use it on a daily "I need to go on a diet!"
NO! you do not. Diet in everyone's head only means you have to deprive yourself of stuff you love. DON'T!

  • Change your portion size, make it smaller.
  • Eat frequently & whatever you like.. try to balance it out a little
  • The second you're full.. STOP (Paul McKenna tip)
  • Drink enough water
I took up walking, lots of walking! I finally got active enough to want to go to the gym.
I went to the gym 2-3 times a week but if I couldn't be bothered, I walked.
I'd meet up with a friend but purposely meet at a pub furthest away from my house so I'd be burning more.
You don't have to go to the gym and go on silly diets to lose weight. If you do go on silly diets, you'll find the minute you start eating normally again, you'll put weight on!
June 2010

ANYWAY, this is me now.. a healthy 9st 7lbs. And I couldn't be happier. I eat like a pig! I've noticed I eat smaller portions but get hungry quicker.
My metabolism is amazing now as oppose to before. I've never been so confident (as you can tell from Instagram, Twitter, FB) I take photos of myself a lot.. not because I love myself ha but because I'm PROUD!
I've had too many years of feeling crap about myself.. NO MORE!
If I can do it.. you can too :)
I never ever used to even look at dresses because I had zero confidence.. I buy dresses every month now.. I think I own more dresses now that I do jeans and tops lol
I'm happy & healthy.

It took me a while to get an old pic up but it had to be done one day!

What I would wear..

Hi my loves. So Fashionvouchers.com have set bloggers a little task of finding a killer outfit for less than £100.

Enter here: http://www.fashionvouchers.com/2012/11/16/xmas-party-outfit-blogger-challenge/

This is what I've chosen. Funnily enough, I've been thinking to buy this dress for one of my christmas parties.
I like it so much I'm including it on this too. I am the biggest fan of prom type dresses.
This type of dress is perfect for my weird, curvy yet slim yet slim yet curvy figure lol
You can NEVER go wrong with an LBD! They are sexy yet classy, always!

Upto 30% off £45
I'll be wearing this with signature shoes. Something different to the dress. I personally love Black & Gold together. So I would kit this dress with all gold accesories.
£25 Pixie platforms

Lastly, all I'd need now was a gorgeous, classy bag..

£16 Quilted lock across bag

This whole outfit comes to £86 and that is without taking off the discount you'd get from the dress :) YOU ARE WELCOME! ;-)
This whole oufit is from ASOS.COM!
Pop a little red lippie and red nail polish on. Smokey eyes and you're good to go :)

Dear Santa.. I think I deserve these!

Christmas for me is my favourite time of year, not only is it a beautiful religious event, but the magical feel you get is indescribable.
I am still such a big kid at Christmas. I wake up at 5/6am with my little sister to check our stockings lol I still get super excited! It's crazy.

There's a few things I really want this year though & I so hope I get them too ;-)

The Kardashian girlies recently released their Kollection here in the UK in SOME Dorothy Perkins stores.

Sequin & Glitzy clothing & accesories are my "thing" at the moment so I want this for all those Christmas parties I'll be attending this year.
£ 30 - Dorothy Perkins
I love Tan bags. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a big, Hermes tan burkin bag just yet, but this will definitely do. One thing I always look for in handbags is a handle like this one.. rounded and quite hard. I don't own any bags without this sort of strap. The Kardashian girls have got it spot on!
£55 - Dorothy Perkins

Ha & lets face it.. a girl can dream ;-) Louboutins could just about fit into my stocking, Santa baby!

What's on your Christmas wishlist?

Lets hit FD Avenue.

Hi my loves! I am SUPER addicted to bargain fashion. Especially since I'm trying to get rid of all of my larger sized clothing and slowly trying to replace it with smaller sizes, YAY!
Doing this has made me look into other brands and shop elsewhere.
About a year ago I came across Funky divaa.. now known as FD AVENUE!

Half of my wardrobe is full of their clothing. From Dresses to Cardigans to Casual tops. I'm a big fan of their stuff & it's so affordable too.
They always have discounts for their Twitter followers which is always a plus!

The link to FD Avenue. http://www.fdavenue.com/
I recently ordered 3 pieces from these guys. One of the dresses I ordered had sequins falling off, and instead of selling it to me anyway, they left a voicemail saying they didn't want to send me something of bad quality. I think this is such great customer service which makes me love this brand even more.

I think this dress is next on my list!

Thank you FD Avenue for a great service!

Happy Halloween!!!

I love this time of year, minus the Antarctic type weather (slight exaggeration, I know! ha)
I carved my first pumpkin yesterday :) Say hello to my new buddy.. GOOF!

I may be a part time blogger, but I'm a full time Key worker in a Nursery.
I look after babies, all day, everyday! They loved my Pumpkin bopper headband. Was lovely seeing them all dress up in hilarious costumes. I made halloween biscuits with mine today, was lots of fun. I'm such a big kid, think I had as much fun as they did lol

I got home from a LONG day at work and chilled out with a DVD and the sweets my Mum had left out for Trick or Treaters ha
Hocus Pocus scares the life out of me.. YES! I'm 23 & scared of a Disney film.. I know, I know!!
Still can't help but watch it every Halloween night!

Hope everyone has had a fabulous Halloween!

Kardashian Kollection hits Dotty P's

I was overly happy when I found out that Dorothy Perkins were the "chosen ones"
I actually expected the Kardashian girls to sell their collection in a large department store.
I quite like that they've chosen a nice high street store with reasonable pricing.
I'm a big fan of Dorothy Perkins & the fact that they are soon to be stocking the Kardashian Kollection puts a massive smile on my face!

I've written about the Kardashian Kollection pieces before. They are right up my street fashion wise. I've always been a fan of Kourtney Kardashian's fashion style & hello! half of my wardrobe is Leopard print galore!

Are you excited about this Kollection being available here in the UK? Do you like their clothing style?

Muji make-up storage.

I posted a little while ago about prepping for my new make-up storage..
IT FINALLY ARRIVED!!

It's a lot smaller than I initially thought it would be.. but then again I didn't even look twice at the measurements before I ordered it.

I bought the 5 Drawer Acrylic Storage for £24.99, which I thought was pretty reasonable.

I love that my make-up is finally super organised, especially when you have slight OCD.. it's a god send!
If you have a lot of make-up, you may need to either find a bigger draw set from somewhere else or just buy two or three of these.
Luckily, my main make-up fits in the one drawer set but I will definitely need a second drawer set soon as I am always adding to my collection.

OOTD & FOTD - Simplicity is EVERYTHING!

I saw a poster on the train today, I so wanted to take a photo but some guys head was in the way to be completely honest ha!

It said "What has celebrity culture taught us? .....
The only way is Excess!". I loved this poster!

True for celebrities mostly. I think a lot of us are quite celebrity influenced in thinking we have to do lots to ourselves to get noticed.
My advice to you.. KEEP IT SIMPLE!
You don't have to have the most expensive and extravagent dress on to look good.
You really don't have to have lashings of make up on. I like to keep it simple at all times.

Over the weekend I went out for a gorgeous Thai meal at one of my favourite restaurants "Thai Emerald" for my lovely friends birthday.

I wore..
Purple dress with gold studs - New Look. £10
Black Tights.
Black padded heels (not wearing them here ha!)

Make-up I wore..

Face -
MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation
Collection 2000 - Concealer

Cheeks -
Hoola by Benefit
Peach Melba by Sleek

Eyes -
Avon Palette - Dark Purple eyeshadow
YSL - Shocking Liquid Eyeliner (Black)
Bobbi Brown Gel Pot - Black (bottom eye line)
YSL - Shocking Mascara

Lips -
YSL Lipstick (unsure of name, was a freebie, light pink tone)

I felt good in what I went out in & loved how simple I did my make up.
Simplicity really is everything!

Yash Chopra.. King of Romance.

A few of you may have seen Yash Chopra's name crop up on Twitter & Facebook yesterday.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Bollywood films. He was one of the BEST film director's in Bollywood history.
I am writing this post purely as a thank you to him for making some of my most FAVOURITE films of all time.. "Kabhi Kabhi" "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" "Dil to Pagal Hai" & "Veer Zaara"
If you haven't watched any of these, please do.
HE is the reason I am the biggest romantic in the world. A lot of people know that about my personality and know just how obsessed I was & still am with his films.
Rest in Peace to the King of Romance, Yash Chopra.

My favourite film.. ever!

Perfect ways to relax..

Hi guys! Gosh.. what a bloody week it's been & it's only TUESDAY. I apologise for not posting the FOTD's just yet as I have had lots going on. I will be posting this week, thats for sure. I love creating different looks.

It's that time of year.. utter cosiness. You do get a little lazy though, purely for the fact that it gets dark so quick. I know for a fact I can't be bothered to go to the gym these days. I do make up for it at home though.. thank god for my fab treadmill!

Here are a few of my autumn favourites to help me relax over the Autumn/Winter period.

1. Scented Candles.
I am such a big fan of Yankee Candles especially.
Honey & Spice is so beautiful. Perfect scent for the colder seasons. It's so relaxing & the smell lasts ages too.

2. Cookery Shows.

I heard someone say this on a TV show once. (Can't for the life of me remember who said it. )
But they said that they found watching Cookery shows 'Therapeutic' & that it took the "edge right off' when they'd had a bad day.
This is SO true!
I am a massive fan of Nigella. I genuinely believe that I will be just like her when I'm a wife & a mother.
The way she talks about what she cooks and the way she goes about doing it.. She's amazing! I'm actually tempted to buy her book "Nigellisima"
Her food is proper COMFORT food. Yum!

3. Cosy Gear.

There is no better feeling than coming back from a LONG & hard day at work, having a bath & getting into cosy clothing..
My leopord print robe is amazing at this time of the year.. so snuggly.
I recently bought this Hat as well as some leopord print slipper boots from New Look.. LUSH!
I didn't buy the ear muffs on top of the hat, although I am thinking to! Ha!

4. Onto BATHS!

I am a shower girl at heart, I really am. But there's something about candles & a lovely bubble bath that just takes away all your stress & anything negative.
I rarely have baths but I've noticed with the colder weather, I've been leaning towards having baths than showers. Very cosy.

5. THE O.C.

Those Christmukkah episodes are so good, I absolutely love them. Seth Cohen is possibly one of my favourite characters of all time. He's definitely up there with Zac Morris, Phoebe Buffay & King Julien of Madagascar haha

What relaxes you?

Getting prepared for the MUJI make-up storage..

I ordered a 5 Drawer Acrylic storage box from MUJI a few weeks ago. It's finally on it's way to me & I genuinely can't wait. I love being organised! It makes me feel so good & stress free. Sad but true.

I've been preparing for it's arrival by..

BUYING MORE MAKE-UP!! (Any excuse ;) ) I have 5 drawers to fill up after all hehe.

Here are some of my new goodies. I am becoming a bigger fan of Benefit by the day!

I've heard so many amazing things about HOOLA & I've been reading up on the Boi-ing concealer so thought I'd give it a go.

Eye make-up is my "thing" I prefer doing more with my eyes than lips. All this make-up just gives me more motivation to do more Face of the Days. I know a lot of you have noticed I don't do them as much as I used to. Purely because my camera doesn't pick up the colour well but I so miss doing it. I'll have a mess about with the camera settings & deliver more FOTD's!

Nioxin hair kit.. THE LAST REVIEW!

Hey my little cuties :) Hope everyone is well.. here's some good news.. It's very nearly the weekend!! This week has flown by..no?

So here's the last review, apologies for it being late.. I've been poorly recently, this weather change has got to so many people. I'm still suffering from a really bad chesty cough.. if you have any natural remedies then please tweet me @UnLeeshd

Right.. so my hair!
Have I noticed a difference in 4 weeks of me using it? Yes!
A good difference, YES!
Will I buy this product again.. UNSURE!

I'll explain my verdict. It really does do what it says on the box. My hair has a lovely thick feel to it. It looks nice & healthy which is something you always want from a hair product. However, I didn't like the heavy feel to my hair. Basically I found that this shampoo made my scalp feel slightly wax like. It wasn't greasy but didn't have that CLEAN feel I'm used to.
I've said this before but I have hair OCD..I hate the feel of greasy hair so the fact that this shampoo made my hair feel like that put me off, but this is just a personal thing. I'd still try it as that little issue I had with it probably wouldn't affect the normal person ha!

I do like the thicker look to my hair which is why I'm unsure on buying this product, it does what it says on the box. I'd give it 7/10.

RECIPE: Beef Roast.. Nom.

Hello my darlings. It's been a while since I did a recipe post for you.
I remember doing one for cupcakes & American style pancakes before, they went down very well.
The colder seasons are now here & roast dinners are a must.
For me, roast dinners are the perfect comfort food.

Last night, I decided to cook a Beef roast for my family (I love to cook!)
Thought I'd share my easy roast dinner recipe with you. This is going to be a brief recipe as it's so easy & simple.

Ingredients (based on family of 5)
Brisket of Beef (any meat, Beef is my fave.. I have no clue on weight etc)
A bag of ordinary potatoes
4 Cloves Garlic
1 large Onion
Carrots
Dried Oregano
Goose Fat
BISTO! (obviously other gravy brands out there)
Butter
Salt & Pepper

Step 1:

Brown the Brisket of beef in some melted butter, this seals in all the juices and makes sure the meat doesn't dry out in the oven.

A few minutes on each side, when done.. place it in a tray. Pour the butter over the top. Cover with foil and add to a pre-heated oven. Leave on Gas mark 7 for 30 mins then turn it down to Gas mark 4 for an hour (depending on how you cooked you like the beef)

Step 2:

Start peeling! Carrots, chop them & put them into some cold water ready to be cooked later.
Peel potatoes and chop them into Quarters (Depending on what size you prefer roast potatoes)
Part boil them for 10-15 mins and drain.

Step 3:

Add your goose fat to a tray. Put it in the oven until goose fat has melted and the tray is warm. Chop the garlic & onion into chunks and throw them in.

Add the potatoes and make sure you coat them all with goose fat. Season & sprinkle on some Oregano. Place in the oven.

Step 4:

After 35-40 mins of the beef being in the oven, take it out and turn it over. Cover it back up and put it back in the oven.
Do the same with potatoes every 30 mins.
Put the carrots on about 15-20 mins before you serve dinner.

Step 5:

Take beef out when nicely cooked, this obviously depends on how you like your beef. I like it well done, so I leave mine in for a while. If you're worried about it drying out, cook on a low heat & keep basting it with the juices.
Always let the meat rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 6:

In this 5 minutes, you can get the gravy on :) Pour any juices from beef into the gravy.

That's all it takes, it's so easy! I did forget to make yorkshire puddings but I added stuffing instead (the mix.. just add water & place in oven 30mins before dinner is served! ;) ) And yes, I have onion rings haha I love onion rings & gravy.. don't ask!

Happy Cooking!

EMMYs 2012 Fashion! Best & Worst.

I can't help but love award ceremonies, purely to see what designers some celebrities have chosen to design their gowns.
Last night, I kept seeing images on Twitter of some of these gowns, claws were out this year huh? Some very beautiful dresses, but equally some not so beautiful. So this is my time to pretend I'm on Fashion Police ;)

Best.

1. Sophie Vergara - Wearing a Zuhair Murad turquoise sequin number. She looks like a mermaid, absolutely stunning!

2. Padma Lakshmi -  In Monique lluillier. Wow! I love this. Just goes to show, sometimes the simpler the better.

3. Julianne Hough - Like I said earlier, the claws were out this year. Another fabulous choice. This Georges Hobeika number is literally covered in Swarovski crystals.. Jealous much? To think she is only 23. So elegant!

They were my favourites, now lets get onto my not so favourites.

Worst.
1. Amy Poehler - Wearing Stella McCartney. For such a pretty woman, she could've chosen a dress that really flattered her shape and would've looked stunning. The bad fitting & design of this dress has made her look "Frumpy"

2. Ashley Judd - Wearing Carolina Herrera. Looks more like a bridesmaid dress. Not a fan of the colour, I think Ashley Judd could've done a hell of a lot better.

3. Lena Dunham - I do think this Prada number is nice, but its a little too much and not the right shape. Doesn't matter what shape or size you are, there are always dresses out there that FLATTER every shape.

Being Joan Rivers is kind of fun, although I've been a lot nicer lol
