Don't mistake this for Herbal life the brand. I'm talking in general. I've always been a fan of health food stores. Some people look at me with disgust when I sit there eating Dried dates, blueberries, sunflower seeds and raisins etc
I haven't chosen to take the super healthy path, I genuinely enjoy eating all of those things.
For the last few weeks, my diet has been mixed. I've had my usual healthy stuff but equally I've been eating a lot of 'on the go' type snacks such as Crisps and biscuits. I cut those out of my life for years and all of a sudden I'm eating them again.
As of tomorrow, one stressful part of my life will be finished and I cannot wait. I can finally go back to the gym and give my body the cleanse it needs. I've stopped taking any medication as pain relief methods, I've stopped taking medicines for colds, coughs etc All I take now are my inhalers for Asthma but I know once I'm back to being all healthy again, I won't need those either.
I'm really interested in Herbal life and Organic food, so please post here if you eat or drink anything for specific reasons, whether its medical or cosmetic. or even tweet me @UnLeeshd
I'm so interested in cleansing my body and only eating and drinking what's good for you. Obviously, I'm not that strict.. I will have the odd KFC or Nandos here and there but I do need to start respecting my insides more than I do at the moment.
Get in touch :)

Hello, lovely readers!
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have noticed the amount of tweets about the gym and healthy eating..
After a long 4 month break from the gym and being super active, I've decided to go back. The cold weather and Festive season really put me off going to the gym but the best thing about the break is I've maintained my weight so I'm happy.
I just want to be more active again, and I do love going for a good workout!
Chickpeas:
- Good Source of Protein, Fibre & Zinc.
- They are part of your "5 a day"
- Help to lower cholesterol
- Low in Fat.
The other day I really fancied a Chickpea curry. It's really healthy so I thought I'd put the recipe up here for you guys to try..
Ingredients (Serves 2-3 people)
3 tbsp Olive Oil
1 can of chickpeas
Passata sauce
2 green chillis (Chopped)
2 cloves of Garlic
Half teaspoon worth of Ginger
1 tsp Salt
2 tsp Turmeric (Haldi)
1 tsp Garam Masala
Bunch of Coriander
Water
1. Add oil to a pan, when warm add your sliced onion, garlic, ginger and green chilli.
2. When the onions have a golden colour, add the salt and passata sauce. After a couple minutes, add your Turmeric and cook for further 3-4 minutes.
3. Drain your chickpeas and add them to the sauce, give it a good stir.
4. Now, add half a pint of water and stir. This will help to soften the chickpeas
5. Let the chickpea curry simmer for 10/15 minutes and add your garam masala and coriander.
Let it simmer on a low heat for a further 5 minutes and it's ready to serve. You can serve this with Naan/ Pitta/ Chapatti's..
I had mine with Salad and low fat Greek Yoghurt.

Admittedly, my overall health is absolutely fine.
My diet always contains Fruit & Veg as and when it can. However, the colder months have resulted in me staying indoors and not being as active as I used to be.
Instead, I've snuggled up most evenings after work, snacking away with my feet up.
It's the season of indulgence so I don't feel too guilty.
I just hate that my body doesn't feel as healthy as it did before.
So i've started a slight Detox today.
By slight.. I'm drinking some healthy tea and juices but eating normal meals. Most people when doing a detox usually only eat and drink Fruit & Veg for a few days but I'm not in need of an intense detox.
I've started the detox off today by drinking Lemon tea.. (Slice of lemon in some hot water! EASY PEASY..LEMON SQUEEZY ;-) )
Health Benefits:
- Great for your immune system
- Great for weight loss.. Gets rid of those naughty food cravings.
- Helps with any digestion problems
- Cleanses your insides, gets rid of any bad toxins and waste in your body
- Is known to make your skin look clearer.
A simple tea like this has ALL of these health benefits! I'm excited to start cleansing. There's something so therapeutic about knowing you're ridding your body of all those bad toxins.
Green Monsters!
I've been drinking Green monsters now and again. I was introduced to these by Roshni of http://littlemissrosh.blogspot.co.uk/
I enjoy healthy drinks and snacks, Usually people look at green drinks and say "URGHHHHH.. What is that?" "How can you drink that?" Whereas, I see a healthy drink or snack and am always intrigued to know if they taste nice or not.
Ingredients vary but I use:
1 Banana
1 cup of raw spinach
1 tsp Wheatgrass powder (You can purchase this from all good health food stores)
1 cup of Milk
You pop it all into a blender and TA-DA..
Benefits:
Wheatgrass powder - Cleanses your body, helps build your immune system up.
Banana's - Great for your energy levels, potassium and also keeps you fuller for longer.
Spinach - Full of Vitamins & Antioxidants.
If you don't like Bananas for example, go onto the main website and find a smoothie more ideal for you.
I won't blog until the New Year now so I just want to thank you for all the support and feedback this year.
Here's to 2013! Hoping to make UnLeeshd much bigger and better for you all!
Lotsa Love & Well Wishes.. Leesh of UnLeeshd x x x

Hello my darlings, I hope you're all well.
One of my lovely tweeties asked me if i'd write up a little something on my fitness/health regime. So here I am, I hope this helps anyone whose looking to do the same as what I did (am still doing)
So, it was exactly a year ago today that I decided to do something about the way I looked, I was a big size 14, and knew that it would only be a short matter of time before i'd have to start buying size 16 clothing. The thought of doing that depressed me, so I started exercising.
During my Uni days, all I ever did was hop from one bus to another & snack on whatever I liked, I hardly ever walked anywhere & I didn't really eat anything healthy.
Think this was the time I put lots of weight on & didn't really bother losing it. I used to wear really loose clothing to hide what was underneath, I hated my size.
I'd joined up to a gym years ago, used it twice and that was the end of that lol
A lot of people say to me "I need to start the gym!" but they say it with the least amount of enthuasiasm, My advice to you..
Do NOT go to the gym if you don't do any exercise on a regular basis. I recommend doing what I did.
Exercise..
I started by WALKING.. I used to go on a long walk atleast 3 times a week.. (40mins)
After a couple months, I started feeling really energised, so I increased it and would go twice a day, a long walk & then a mini walk for about 20 mins.
It's such a great way to get into exercise, it just meant when I started the gym, I wasn't feeling out of breath and unfit!
Asthma..
I used to have to take my inhalers with me wherever I went, at the gym I used to have to take a couple breaks as I was a little out of breath.
A year on.. I can't remember the last time I had to take my inhaler at the gym. I don't get out of breath anymore and a lot of that is due to me increasing my exercise.
I attend the gym atleast 3 times a week.
My routine is..
Crosstrainer.. 20-30 minutes (you don't have to go crazy on it, I don't!)
Treadmill.. 10-15 mins
Spin bikes.. 10 mins (They hurt the girly area though, IT'S TRUE!)
Weights.. 10 mins
Food.
Honestly.. I EAT WHAT I WANT! But, luckily I've found that since I got into gym'in, i'm so put off junk food. I haven't cut it out of my diet purposely, I'm just not into it.
Takeaways for example.. I'm not into them anymore but when I get a craving for a Pizza.. or a Kebab.. I buy the damn thing! Don't deprive yourself!
Please don't go on these faddy diets, like Atkins.
Weight Watchers & Slimming World.. fair enough.. they're not bad.
I just don't believe in silly diets where you can't have this, that & the other.
There are days when I'll eat a cupcake or chocolate, & I won't limit myself, i'll eat as much as I want.
My theory is, the more you cut something out of your diet, the more you want it.. So just eat whatever you like, as long as you have a nice balanced diet and exercise well, it's fine.
One thing I tend to hate eating & will only eat if there is NOTHING else to eat is.. BREAD! I'm not a fan of it at all, it makes my stomach bloat like a b**ch!
I'm allergic to rice now too, so pasta & potatoes are the only carbs I really eat.
I don't drink fizzy drinks, I cut them out of my diet when I was 14, never really been a fan. Think the only time I drink fizz is when i'm on a night out, & I hardly ever go out .. What a saddo? lol
I drink lots of water! Very important! & If you have time, drink a mug full of Lemon tea in the morning.. flushes all the rubbish out of your system. (Hot water, lemon, tiniest pinch of salt)
It's gross, but good for your insides.
Now..
A year on.. I'm a healthy size 10.. I've done it slowly and I know I can maintain it.
I can't believe how much confidence I have.. A year ago if you'd ask me to go out the house with a dress on, I'd laugh in your face. Nowadays, all I'm ever buying is gorgeous dresses to wear on nights out, I've never felt so good :)
