Make-up Show Live 2013 - REVIEW

Two weeks ago, I headed down to London town to attend the Make up show live @ The Hilton Metrapole.
I was given a press pass as a blogger and spoke to a lot of people about new products.

I purchased and tried a few so thought I'd give you my opinion on the brands I saw.

Cherry Coco.

This has to be my favourite out of them all, purely because of the products and how well my skin would take to them.
Cherry Coco specialise in hand-made body creams and soaps. I spoke to one of the girls at this stand and she was lovely, very down to earth and informative about the products.
Their soaps are very gentle, they do the cleaning job without stripping your natural oils, as well as adding moisture to the skin.
The body whips are lovely and rich, again so moisturising and the best part is that they're all natural and Preservative free.
Have a look at their products here as I promise they are worth a try.

Another brand I found really interesting was,

Diamond Blend

The "Cocktail of youth" All products are made from properties of Diamond and Marine Phytoplankton (known to be great for premature aging) claiming to help target the signs of aging. How fabulous.
Their products include the Diamond mineral face mask, eye patches, Feet, Elbows and Knee Lotion, Bio Gel Face Mask, Hand lotion and a 24hr Moisturiser.

I tried the Diamond mineral face mask on Friday night, I haven't seen any visible difference, but I will try the product again as I think you need to use them regularly to see a difference.

Lastly, one of my last favourites has to be..

MOTIVES

I love their products, I bought some to try before the show, when I saw the stand I was so happy as the Motives brand only sell online.
I had the chance to swatch the products.  I purchased yet another eyeshadow and the Lumiere de vie face cream (blogged about last week) This brand is my current favourite.

The girls at Motives were fabulous, so informing and welcoming. Thank you, ladies.

The show was great and directed to Women of Colour.
Some of the make-up brands such as Motives, Flori Roberts and Celebrity make-up artist AJ CRIMSON's products cater to darker skin tones. Something we seem to see less of in stores.

I had a great day, and hope to go back again next year.

Limited Edition MAC Antonio Lopez Lip Palette - SWATCH

I am loving red lipsticks right now. I have vowed however that I will be going the next month wearing next to no make-up whatsoever as I want to give my skin a breather and I'm actually loving the natural look at the moment. I don't know how long I will last.. I will obviously start wearing make-up once again. Eek!

A month or so ago, I watched a YouTube clip by Michelle of Beauty & the Blog "The Perfect Red Lip."
After watching this short clip, I loved this look and thought to buy my own red lip kit.
Red lips are so classy and timeless. Very underrated too.
The new lip palette I purchased is perfect.
The palette consists of three shades, from a coral red to a deep red.
(From Left to Right..  Scarlet Ibis (Matte), MAC Red (Satin), Deeply Adored (Matte))

I'm loving "Deeply adored" myself. The Antonio Lopez make-up collection seems to be doing really well. These shades are great for Autumn/Fall.

RRP £25 Selfridges.
Antonio Lopez was a much loved Fashion Illustrator featuring in the likes of Vogue & Harper's Bazaar. He illustrated the most quirky and vibrant illustrations. This collection is a tribute to him. His work is on the cover of all palettes. The whole collection consists of eye palettes, two other lip palettes, blushes, make up bag, mirror and even a tote.

SWATCH.

The Coral shade isn't a shade I'd typically go for but the other two are stunning!!

I also purchased a lip liner which IS NOT in the Antonio Lopez collection. I thought it would go really well with the last two shades of red in the palette. (swatch above)

RRP £14.50 Selfridges.
I'm very impressed with this collection and wished I'd bought more, but I'm being sensible with my money at the moment so this will do hehe. Hope you're all having a great Sunday.

Do you want to bRECOGNISED?

bRECOGNISED is a new clothing store in Northampton (Gold St Mews, opposite Millenniums.) It is open 11-8 everyday.
This brand supports upcoming fashion designers & artists by stocking their pieces.
I love the concept of this store. They haven't chosen to stock brands we've already heard of, they've decided to support upcoming designers and artists out there.
If you are local, or visiting in and around the area, Have a little visit as this store sounds very promising.

The store not only debuts fresh fashion labels, they also have artwork up in the shop drawn and designed by new artists which is such a great idea.
They are very affordable with items ranging from £10-40.
This independent boutique has something special for both Men & Women. With its quirky decor (T-shirts in floating frames) & fabulous layout (clothing out on snooker table), I think it'll do very well.
I love supporting brands like this one as not only have they opened their own store, they have decided to help and support others and assist them to bRECOGNISED!

Good luck to bRECOGNISED! I cannot wait to shop there.
You can follow this store on Twitter @b_recognised.

Lumiere De Vie - Intense Rejuvenation Creme - REVIEW

As a few of you may know from my last blog post, Twitter & Instagram (@UnLeeshd)
I attended the Hilton Metrapole, in London last Sunday to check some new products out.
I will do a blog post especially on the show itself tomorrow.

This post is about this fabulous moisturiser.
I have ordered a few Motives cosmetics without trying them out. Their skincare range sounded promising but I wasn't going to pay out for a product I was unsure about. Make-up is something I'll buy without trying but I'm a little fussy when it comes to Skincare.

R.R.P £47.50/50ml
The packaging is lovely. But more importantly, the product..
I tried out this cream as well as the serum and they both looked promising.
I decided to buy the moisturiser first. After just under a week of use, I can officially say that I'M IN LOVE!
The richness of this cream and subtle scent really appeals to me. I hate, and I mean HATE overly scented skin products.
My skin is so irritable. Anything with too much of a scent to it has a habit of making my skin all red and itchy.
This cream is lovely. The richness makes your skin feel so soft and healthy, which is perfect for the colder/bitter weather here in England.
Your skin feels so smooth after the application, you can even use it as a base for your foundation.

Gorgeous, rich cream

A little goes a long way.

I love the concept behind the name of this Skincare range, Lumiere De Vie is French for Light of Life.
Amber Ridinger, who has come up with this line explained that she loved this name because this brand brings Light into peoples lives.
It adds confidence to the skin. It minimises those spots, marks and red areas to the skin that can sometimes put you down.
This line is all about being positive & confident in yourself, which I simply adore.

This product claims to -
  • Hydrate
  • Repair stressed skin
  • Reduce appearance of wrinkles, lines and age spots
  • Improves radiance and firmness
I really can't wait to order the serum next which has had such amazing reviews.

Keep an eye out for this Skincare range, I think it'll be one of the next big things really soon.
